Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Intercontinental Auto LLC (“we”, “us”) collects through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do about it. We have tried to write it in plain English rather than boilerplate.
1. Information you give us
We only collect what a specific request needs:
- General enquiries and vehicle requests. Your name, email address, phone number if you provide one, and whatever you write in the message — including the vehicle and budget you tell us you are looking for.
- Financing pre-qualification. Your name, email, phone, an approximate budget range, and the vehicle you are interested in. This form is an interest request only. We do not collect your Social Security number, date of birth, income or any other credit-application data on this site — a formal credit application happens directly with a lending partner on their own systems.
- Selling us your vehicle. Your contact details plus vehicle information: VIN, year, make, model, mileage, condition, asking price, notes, and any photographs you upload.
- Buying a vehicle. Details needed to complete the sale and meet Virginia DMV titling and tax requirements. Card details are entered on our payment processor’s systems and are never transmitted to or stored on ours.
- Investor portal (accredited investors only). If you are onboarded to the vehicle acquisition and export program, we collect identity, accreditation, tax and banking information necessary to administer your participation and meet our reporting obligations. Sensitive identifiers in this category — including tax identification numbers and bank account details — are encrypted at rest.
- Account credentials. If you have a staff, admin or investor login, we store your email and authentication data, including multi-factor settings and the devices you choose to trust.
2. Information collected automatically
Our host records standard server logs — IP address, user agent, requested page, timestamp — for security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting. We apply rate limits and a bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile) to our public forms, which processes limited technical signals to distinguish people from automated submissions.
We do not run advertising trackers, cross-site pixels, or third-party analytics profiling on this site. A small amount of data is stored in your own browser for functional reasons only — for example, remembering whether you prefer the light or dark theme.
3. How we use it
- To answer you, quote you, and arrange appointments and test drives.
- To source a vehicle you have asked us to find.
- To prepare a cash offer for a vehicle you want to sell.
- To refer you to a lending partner when you ask us to.
- To complete a purchase and meet Virginia DMV titling, registration and tax duties.
- To administer investor participation, distributions and tax reporting.
- To keep the site secure and to prevent fraud and abuse.
- To keep records we are legally required to keep as a licensed dealer.
4. Contacting you
Where a form asks you to confirm it, you are agreeing that we may contact you about that request by phone, text message or email. Consent to be contacted is never a condition of buying anything from us. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to a text, using the unsubscribe link in an email, or telling us in writing — we will still contact you where we must to complete a transaction you have entered into.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf under contract, and with others where a transaction or the law requires it:
- Hosting and security — our website host and CDN.
- Database and file storage — where listings, leads and uploaded photos live.
- Payment processing — for deposits and payments.
- Email delivery — for transactional messages and notifications.
- Lending partners — only when you ask to be pre-qualified, and only the details needed to make the referral.
- Government agencies — including the Virginia DMV, where titling, registration, tax or licensing requires it.
- Professional advisers — accountants, auditors and lawyers, under confidentiality.
If our business is ever sold or reorganised, personal information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
6. How long we keep it
Enquiries and unconverted leads are kept while they are commercially useful and then deleted. Transaction, dealer and tax records are kept for as long as Virginia dealer recordkeeping and federal tax rules require, which is generally several years. Investor records are kept for the life of the relationship and for the retention period that applies afterwards.
7. Security
The site is served over HTTPS with a strict content security policy. Portal accounts support multi-factor authentication. Sensitive investor identifiers are encrypted at rest with keys held separately from the database. Access to personal information is limited to people who need it, and administrative actions are logged. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise — but if a breach affects you, we will notify you as required by Virginia law.
8. Your rights in Virginia
Under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, Virginia residents may ask us to: confirm whether we process your personal data and give you access to it; correct inaccuracies; delete it; provide a portable copy; and opt out of targeted advertising, sale of personal data, or profiling with legal effects. We do not carry out any of those last three activities.
To exercise a right, contact us. We will respond within 45 days and may need to verify your identity first. If we decline, you may appeal by replying to our decision, and you may also complain to the Virginia Attorney General. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
9. Children
This site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the effective date above. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
